Course Closure: REFLECTION
|
The course closure module consisted of creating a portfolio to demonstrate the works created and reflections taken during, and now at the closing of this course. I decided creating this website surrounding my blog would allow me to best depict this journey. In addition to including my work, and a selection of peer comments and replies for each module, I also wrote small reflections. In writing these, and in adding my work and comments, I found myself revisiting the entire course. What a powerful exercise to review all the work and discourse that has brought me here, not to a destination, but a very important location on my path of my living philosophy as a teacher and life-long academic (being a teacher and learner). Just like my cycling, it's more about the lifestyle and enjoying the daily training and preparation that is most important, so too is the journey of being a professionally ethical teacher, to enjoy and live the ongoing process. There is no destination, of arriving at a point where I will know enough and have all the problems figured out. From my course work this semester in both 811 and 801, I come back to a simple yet powerful phrase, scrutinize not immortalize.
Thanks to everyone for sharing this course and making it such a strong learning environment. Keep going forward. |
